About Mark West
Mark West has been happily married 35 years, is the father of two sons, and has been engaged in business since adolescence. An entrepreneur at heart, Mark has been pursuing business opportunities throughout his life. From selling popsicles after school in junior high school to co-founding and growing a $100 million multi-state senior living healthcare company (which he sold in 2006), much of his life has been committed to the art of business.
Following his graduation from Tennessee Temple University with a degree in Accounting in 1980, Mark formally entered the business world and began to advance rapidly through the various opportunities that were presented to him, including passing the requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant. From the knowledge and skills he gained early on in his career, Mark was able to apply those principles to the development of a thriving enterprise of more than 1,500 employees in six states. While business was not always smooth and the horizon was not always sunny and clear, Mark learned much during the stormy periods as well as times of tranquility.
Mark’s roles have included CFO, COO and President of various entities throughout his 35 years in business. From the numerous roles he has held, the most important lesson he has learned and seeks to communicate to others is that to lead effectively one must first serve others. To that end, his goal is to serve you.
Mark enjoys outdoor activities, walking, running, biking, skiing and traveling internationally. He and Lori also enjoy time at their Tennessee farm. On a fairly regular basis Mark can be found on professional road course race tracks around the Southeast racing his fully race prepped Nissan GT-R. With speeds in excess of 180mph, his time on the track reflects Mark’s passion for life and success. In addition to these activities, Mark is regularly engaged in political endeavors in his community and state.
Mark credits all that has been accomplished to date in his life to God and the blessings He has bestowed on his life. He and Lori attend Stuart Heights Baptist Church in Chattanooga and Mark is frequently engaged in mission trips around the world. Their two grown sons, Nathan and Brad, live in Chattanooga and they too are involved in business pursuits. Nathan and his wife, Diana, are young, successful entrepreneurs in their own right and pursuing their piece of the American dream as well.
