About Mark West
Mark West has been happily married nearly 40 years, is the father of two sons, and has been engaged in business since adolescence. Whether selling popsicles after school or co-founding & growing a $100 million multi-state senior living healthcare company (which he sold in 2006), much of his life has been committed to the art of business.
Following his graduation from Tennessee Temple University with a degree in Accounting, Mark entered the business world and committed himself wholeheartedly to each opportunity, including becoming a Certified Public Accountant. While business was not always smooth and the horizon was not always sunny and clear, Mark learned much during the stormy periods as well as times of tranquility.
But as years passed, and priorities crystallized, Mark’s focus began to shift from pursuing the next dollar, to seeking the eternal riches that can only come from a life committed to God. It’s there that Mark finds his greatest meaning, purpose, and fulfillment, as he seeks to help others AWAKE TO FREEDOM!
Experience
Mark’s roles have included CFO, COO and President of various entities throughout his 40 years in business. From the numerous roles he has held, the most important lesson he continues to learn is one that Jesus taught: “the greatest among you will be a servant.” In order to do so, it requires that we follow the two greatest Commandments: Love God & Love Others.
Hobbies
Mark has enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities throughout the years including, running, biking, skiing and more. He and Lori relish time at their Tennessee farm, Liberty Ridge Ranch, where they enjoy raising a herd of American bison. Mark is passionate about writing and engaging others in discussions that center around one of life’s greatest questions: “What is Truth?”
Inspiration
Mark credits all that has been accomplished to date in his life to God and the blessings He has bestowed on his life. He and Lori attend Woodland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Their two sons, Nathan (and his wife & daughter) & Brad, live in Tennessee. Mark’s greatest source of inspiration and direction in his life though is found in God’s Word, the Book he passionately pursues.
